Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
When you register, we collect your name, email address, company name, and professional details. When you upload a pitch deck, we store the file and any metadata you provide. When you communicate through our platform, we retain those messages.
Information collected automatically
We collect standard log data including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Information from third parties
If you connect a third-party service (such as ClickUp), we receive only the data necessary to provide that integration. We do not purchase or acquire personal data from data brokers.
How We Use Your Information
To provide the service
We use your information to analyze pitch decks, generate match results, facilitate introductions between founders and investors, and operate the platform. AI processing of your deck content is core to the service you signed up for.
To improve the platform
Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand how the platform is used and where we can improve. We do not use individual pitch deck content to train AI models without explicit consent.
To communicate with you
We send transactional emails (OTP codes, match notifications, meeting reminders) and occasional product updates. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
Data Sharing
With investors on the platform
When a match is made and outreach is triggered, your pitch deck and company information is shared with the relevant investor. You are notified when this happens. You can request removal of a specific match at any time.
With service providers
We use third-party services to operate the platform - cloud infrastructure, AI APIs, email delivery, and analytics. These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict data processing agreements.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ninth.vc, our users, or the public. We will notify you of such requests where legally permitted.
Data Retention
Account data
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Pitch deck files
Uploaded deck files are retained for the duration of your account. You can delete individual decks at any time from your dashboard. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Communication records
Messages exchanged through the platform are retained for 12 months after the conversation ends, then permanently deleted unless a legal hold applies.
Your Rights
Access and portability
You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. We will provide it in a machine-readable format within 30 days of your request.
Correction and deletion
You can update your profile information directly in the platform. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at privacy@ninth.vc.
Objection and restriction
You may object to certain processing activities or request that we restrict processing while a dispute is resolved. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Security
How we protect your data
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel and requires multi-factor authentication. We conduct regular security reviews.
Breach notification
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by applicable law.
